Read the straits times today?

On the frontpage, then later on the first page of the Home section, there is this article about a 15-yr-old guy who got a place in the NUS because he can play the violin very well. This means he can get a degree without needing to go through O Levels and A Levels.

This reminds me of a guy in vj who got famous overnight after he and his teammate represented singapore in some asean sailing championship and got champion. One day a few weeks ago the principal happily told us in order to allow him to concentrate on his training, SMU agreed to give him a place(There are some conditions to be met, but according to him its manageable). Therefore, he can skip his A levels and concentrate on his SEA Games training and not worry about studies.

Haix. I wonder why some people are so lucky to have some special talents and they can be successful in life because of this talents. Now, 2 more guys can pursue their dreams with their future secured. I wonder why the principal don't ask the universities to give ME a place so that i can pursue my dreams?

Because they want to see achievements ma. Who cares about your dreams if u can't win something back to show them? Who cares about u if u cant glorify the name of the school and/or country u are representing?

The world is so unfair. Haix.
