Todae broke my record of time leaving sch...left at 8.36pm..gotta climb over the gate at the staircase to get out.
Anyway todae after sch was sports daY~
12 plus end lessons then 2pm gathered at the hall for attendance taking b4 going to stadium..my house Aquila was one of the last to get our house tshirts....abt 2 then got it..then quickly change b4 going to stadium.
I didnt slack too much....cos gotta help film the sports day as icomp assignment(The sports day brochure nvr thank icomp for our services ><)
Sports day was alright la..only thing is weather too hot liaox...events rather standard la..all the running....special events include the tcher's event(Aquila won!), a novelty event which is simply a tcher-and-student 20x100m event..and an tcher-vs-student event about ball throwing into moving basket....the tchers won 20-3 lol.
After sports day we had cheering and mass dancing(again , i noe) b4 the event ended wif cleaning up at abt 6.
Then i went to robotics lab for micromouse...helped my senior solved a prob..then waited for him to come from his CO training(his SYF next week ma)....hence the late time..
Haix...got back my chem lecture test todae..scored 13.5/40..haha..thks to the chinese quiz la...
But anyway not a big deal oso la....highest in my class is 25...average is a failing mark..so..i guess nvm la..lol.
The tcher our class did considerably better than her other classes.....i wonder how true issit though.
Wah vv tired leh...collapsing..tml programming got a 'mini-test'...after tt continue micromouse until dunno wat time...next wed is competition liaox...............
Oh ya..forgot to mention yesterday..i got a new tv!
No la dun wu hui i not rich...got a new tv becos the old one spoil le...spoil for half a year liaox...must change le..

HEllo ^^
Hahaha..this week is a very happening week..haha..
Of cos, the most impt event was the Inter-School Chinese Current Affairs Quiz.haha...
I want to say...it was highly successful!!!
And....AHS is champion!!!!!
WEll...me and my 2 frens were supposed to leave class only at 1210...but that is in between of GP...so we tot it was useless to go for one period then skip another..so we skipped both(it was break b4 GP)
WEnt to lab to make sure everything is running..no mistakes....we made a vv crucial decision too(which later turned out to be a right one)
U see hor..we wun noe who would be the final 4 schs who made it into the finals until the last minute ma...but the software doesnt support chinese input..so only way is to change the names of the schools into graphics first, then import into it...but the laptop we used doesnt support chinese text input as well...so by right the only way is to run back to comp lab, do, then run back.
WE, however, decided to change all 28 chinese schools names to graphics beforehand..
Anyway, it was a busy day...1230 we went to LT5 to rehearse then made changes all the stuff etc etc
I myself was running all over the world to confirm all the little little stuff and everything..wif the hot weather i was sweating like mad...
It was a written test b4 the final quiz..so we siam first..later during their refreshments we went in to prepare..
Final quiz started...first was performance by some musicfest champion and chinese drama performance..first prob came during the singing..we were supposed to show the MV of the 2 songs...but the screen didnt came out...the 3 of us damn worried la..then no one came to help us until much later..
During the drama the results came...well i said we made a correct decision earlier on cos we just have to import the names of the 4 finalists in..all the work can be done in the LT...if we run out of the LT, go all the way to the lab then do then go back too late liaox ma..(come to think of it, vv heng we did tt)
WEll anyway...the quiz itself was a success...the computing thingy ran successfully...got hiccup in the middle la...we accidentally reset one sch's timing during the time limit round..but the seniors were fast to react..
WAtched AHS fought back from behind to clinch the champion..wah vv happy to see tt....
WEll...really vv happy tt the quiz is finally over..skipped so many lessons, failed 2 tests, lost so much sleep..but can say it was well worth it la..
Come to think of it, 4 yrs in ahs i nvr get to wear any blazer...4 months in vj i already wear 2 times liaox...haha..
One burden over, another coming....micromouse competition next wed....i will be competing against my fren....damn stressed up..cos he's an expert..
Todae continued micromouse....yay helped my senior wif some programming...so happy..
Did all the way until 7 plus..then gates at the staircase lock liaox so must climb out(first time!)..

My neighbourhood the flats just finished repainting..quite nice i tink...nth special but quite ok la..

First time in my entire life i pon a lesson.
I wun want to pon lesson unless i'm forced to mah....but too little time liaox..so no choice todae skipped my chem tutorial to do the quiz thingy...
Later in the afternoon was rehearsal....abit stressed cos its chinese scholars over the place..haha..
Rehearsal was ok i tink..but alot of things to take note....
Haix...go and complete the thingy liaox...plus my phy test..

Today
4.15pm: finished GP tutorial, skipped third period PE went V26 comp lab set up all the animation...all cocked up so spent a long time piecing the stuff together..
Abt 5 plus: Friend came to join me, then the tcher in charge came to see the progress of our work...
5 to 6plus: Scanning of pics, senior taught us how to put sound into flash, planning out wat to do at home etc.....
6 plus to 7: Micromouse! Competition coming and vv little stuff done...
(When i left sch the entire college still very re nao..the SYF pple still performing beautiful music..)
8pm: Reached home..chiong all the way to complete the thingy.(now i waiting to get some animation and templates from my frens so blog)
Tuesday:
3.30pm: Rehearsal for chinese quiz
After the rehearsal to dunno wat time : Micromouse again..
Reach home: IF got anything to touch up(which i hope not) then touch up and complete the thing, after that study for wednesday phy lecture test.

Dunno where to find time to complete....there's oso the micromouse competition coming up...tml and tues afternoon supposed to stay back after sch to do the mouse..but now got this chinese quiz thingy dunno how to find time to do..

IS programming a dying hobby?
It seems so..todae's programming training had a pathetic attendance of 3(actually i hope it will remain like this. Which other olympaid gurantees u a place without any test?=D)
Some of them already dropping liaox...
Friday went back to ahs to see the little kids learning programming...besides one sec1, the rest all looked so uninterested in programming la.
Wats wrong wif the world?Has the pple degenerated?Too lazy liaox?
Maybe...pple nowadays want to be spoon-fed la..they dunwan to kill their brain cells over these problems.
SO they move towards easier stuff..like web design.
But then again, how many pple todae still create web pages using hand-coded html?
I wont be surprised if one day programmers are so scarce tt they fetch high salaries.
To say the truth i wun want to take programming as a job..too sianx le...imagine everyday looking at a screen with nothing but words and numbers....but next time if i cant find the job i want i can at least fall back on programming.
Actually i only referring to wat i see la..not sure wat the situation is in other parts of the world la..

BIG BIG NEWS!
So many big news these days huh haha.
First is thurs soccer...vj drew with cj 1-1..well vj is already in the second round after 2 earlier wins, so yesterday they fielded their second team, tts y the not-so-good performance.
Second big news: Mindef dropped the eurofighter typhoon from its list of short-listed fighters!
Quite a surprise...cos the eurofighter seems to be the best among the 3....
Without the eurofighter the next best is the rafale..in my opinion that is...i tink we have enough US fighters liaox...maybe its time to try out French fighters?
SIanx..all these hw and cca stuff are killing me....haix..next week is chinese quiz le..and i havent complete yet..how leh..

Nope...not soccer, not some stupid government policy...this news is more important, more shocking and more surprising than anything else in the world!

LAtely there is this news about signing some document tt states tt u will not want ur life to be artifically prolonged. THis means if u sign this thingy, tml if i shoot u in the head and u become vegetable, u will rather die then lie in the bed for years.
I tink i may sign it next time....i dunwan to ba zan a hospital bed and deprived others who may need it...well being in vegetable state is almost the same as dead liaox..y hang urself in the middle of nowhere?
I noe channel 8 just finished this NKF show abt a character who woke up after being in coma for 6 yrs..but...haha i dun see the need la..anyway its such a rare case..
If i die, someone else can use the hospital bed, the doctor and nurse can tend to him..then it may save his life...instead of wasting resources on a piece of wood.
Err..pls note this is only my point of view...true true life is precious and we still try our best to remain alive...i mean tts wat I(read:ME!I!) will do if i meet this situation la..
Sometimes i feel vv bad tinking of all these cos its like...many others out there are struggling to live(eg those kidney patients, children struck wif long term illnesses etc) while i'm tinking of dying...haha..maybe i should be more optimistic...

BIg news.
Nope...not the casino..it isnt a surprise..it was already rather obvious tt they are going to build one(somemore 2)...In fact it will be surprising if they say they are NOT going to build one.
As i maintained my stand, i wont object to it if they have effective measures to control the social problems tt arise.
Haha..news is, todae soccer vj beat M. Institute(i dunno how to spell sorry!) 4-0.

End of week here...
Yup said i was looking forward to friday..but the 'forwardness' dropped by half this morning..
Few days ago tcher said tt todae pple from IHPC(institute of high performance computing) coming to connect 4 computers to form a grid..then he say its at 2.30 pm, so who want to see can go see..i tot can learn something new mah...so i was looking forward to it..

I guess acac is alright ba....but i tink the little ones are getting abit too much of spoon feeding...so they dun really tink on their own la..and they seem to have a wrong concept about ccas..hmm..

Yup said i was looking forward to friday..but the 'forwardness' dropped by half this morning..
Few days ago tcher said tt todae pple from IHPC(institute of high performance computing) coming to connect 4 computers to form a grid..then he say its at 2.30 pm, so who want to see can go see..i tot can learn something new mah...so i was looking forward to it..

Yet another busy week...monday night 11plus went online then realise must hand in PW PI..i see liaox sianx..tues then hand it in....crapped some idea and submitted it..
Haix...got 4/16 for chem redox test...
Haix...my mid-yr examinations timetable is out...sianx.
I haf also came to 2 major decisions after some deep considerations in the past week:
1)I have decided not to apply for the singapore taiwan exchange programme.
2)I have decided not to apply for any exco post in icomp.
Another decision is awaiting me to make....robotics club exco applications......
I tink hor, the government has already decided to build a casino liaox..last sunday's newspapers already drop a hint le....it says 'PM to explain casino decision on apr 18'.
Vv obvious lor..if the government not building casino they dont need to explain anything...since PM is going to explain thoroughly i tink the decision has been made to build a casino le..
Plus todae news talked abt a survey on how many percent of singaporeans are likely to get addicted to gambling...again if they not building casino they dun need to report on this survey le..
Actually if they can control the casino well and prevent any social problems surfacing due to the casino, i haf no objections la..its ultimately up to the citizens to shape the society anyway.If the citizens are greedy, its no use even if u dun build a casino.
Wah..lately alot of earthquakes and volcano activity in indonesia leh....is the end of the world coming?

Hello.
Haix...realised so long nvr blog liaox...abit busy ma..
WEd was the release of PW tasks...early in the morning went to PT for briefing...now i noe y the seniors will laugh and 'wah..' when they hear tchers saying abt PW briefing...it was vv boring..my class everyone fell aslp..haha..
PW tasks not easy leh....quite difficult in fact...haix die liaox..
Haix..i haf been selected for this singapore-taiwan student exchange programme..if i go for this thingy i haf to host a taiwanese student in my hse for abt 2 weeks in july/august..then i dec go taiwan be hosted by a student there...
The entire singapore only got 80 places, then vj invited 500 plus of us -.-'' we haf to pass thru moe intereview and stuff la...then return airfare must pay ourselves..haix.
Dunno if i shld go or not leh...sounds fun la..but...haix.
Then icomp exco applicatons oso open liaox...dunno if i shld go for any exco posts leh...
I'm quite busy this weekend too...i haf to submit my PW PI next week...then robotics the tcher wants me to tink of ideas for singapore science and engineering fair...then chinese quiz coming soon and my thingy is not even half complete...all these on top of all the hw....haix...how to survive??!?!?
WAh..just watched the news....got ahs pple won gold at tan kah kee inventor award...so proud haha.
Question given to me to do at today's programming session:
Given:

10 fingers evenly distributed over 2 hands

2. 200g of peanut butter stored in a cylindrial glass container with tight-fitting screw on metal
lid with freshness screw on. Expiry date: 3 mths later
3. One breadknife, titanium edge, about 15cm long, with wooden handle of abt 6 cm, rivetted to
blade.
4. One loaf of wholemeal bread in original plastic baggie and baggie cover. Bread is pre-sliced at
1cm thickness (total size: 20cm x 10 cm x 10cm)
5. A high grade porcelain round plate diameter 30cm
Problem: MAke a peanut butter sandwich.

The tale of a cockroach
It rained heavily today. At vjc canteen, a bunch of hungry students were having their breaks and indulging themselves in their food. Just outside the canteen, a cockroach was strolling happily in the rain.
"Raindrops keep falling on my head....."
After a while, it decided that it had enough, so it walked into the canteen. By then, some of the students had noticed its presence. Everyone gave it way to it, some pple screaming at the same time. Perhaps the cockroach thought that it should not frighten them, thus changed direction and walked out of the canteen again.
Just then it met a student. This student enjoyed abusing the cockroach. He drew some water from the drink he was drinking, with a straw, and blew it at the cockroach. The cockroach seemed frightened, but was still rather calm. In a bid not to frighten the other students who were staring at its every movement, it did not run, just walked slightly faster.
The student was not satisfied. He poured ice onto the cockroach.
THis time, the cockroach had enough. It got to its feet and ran into the drain, disappearing in a flash.
After the incident, tHe author of this short story stared at him for a moment. He stared back, and seemed proud of himself.

Aiya....todae morning rain so heavy..supposed to be nice weather for sleeping...but i got to go sch.....the oylmpaid training start le...
Wah..more pple went for the training..means must work harder to get a chance in olympaid...i dun mind missing NSC...but i must go for NOI!
After tt went parkway to eat lunch wif frens..then slacked a little while in MPH b4 going home.
Haix...my seniors hurrying me abt the chinese quiz again..tink tml must complete most of the work...
Oh..friday after sch met up wif a couple of my frens.....wah they so hardworking lor...their maths so pro...then realised i lagging behind alot le...must catch up sia..haix.....

Yay..finally end of week liaox...quite a busy week.
Well mon and tues i was busy wif vicomp as i haf said, then wed is vicomp2005 itself.
Got off at 11..went to welfare room to get my blazer(haha first time wearing it in my whole life) then proceed to LT1 to setup the computers and run tests...
Competition was supposed to start at 2 then they shld only report at 1.30..but at 12 plus got pple come register le...lol ahs was the last sch to register(actually second last, but in the end river valley didnt even turn up)..the acac tcher only let my 3 juniors off at 1pm then they had to make their way to vj themselves.
First was an half an hr online quiz at comp lab..i was still doing rehearsal at LT so nvr see...second round was an one hr programming....halfway thru i went there to take a look..when i first stepped in i shock..cos ahs -10 then the rest all 0.Turned out my juniors submitted a question then wrong. When end of the round those schs wif 0 pts are first, those wif -ve pts are behind -.-''
Actually i admired those who submitted their questions la..at least they dared to submit..not like some schs hum ji dont dare submit.
4 schs got into the final round held at LT1...this is the pek chek part...
Soon after the competition began there was this question on operating system then HCI started questioning the question...argued.......
During the final round it was RI's turn. See ah, we use this server-client thingy for the setup la, then the projector projecting the questions on the screen was connected to the server com(means no lag), which a senior and I were controlling. THe contestants, each team had a com, which are the clients, connected to the server thru LAN.SEnding questions from server com to client coms got lag time de ma, then ri was sitting furthur away from the screen, so when we just started a question they raised their unhappiness say the two teams sitting near the screen can see the questions b4 they reach the client coms, so not fair to RI....it was like -.-''
Wasted one question(cos got time limit to answering the question, then we cant stop the timer)
THis led to a bigger problem.Some questions later, again we just started flashing a question pple raise objections say just now, while they were arguing, HCI went to click the correct answer then the rest nvr click at all, so unfair.Then while they were arguing this time, again HCI click the correct ans the rest nvr click.-.-''
IN the end my tcher qin zi chu ma, say the 2 questions would be forfeited, then HCI would haf 8 pts taken away(4 for each question)...
Then now, HCI complained.They ask whether can update the score so tt they noe how many pts they were leading over the others..but we not able to do it ma..then they not happy, ask 'Why dont we add 8 pts to the other 3 teams?'
At this pt of time my fren sitting somewhere in the LT, bo shuang liaox, shouted 'Wat's the diff?!?'
